Nell Cooper Barnett

Nell Cooper Barnett, a resident of Headland, died early Thursday evening, December 6, 2012, in a Dothan hospital. She was 83.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 8, 2012, in the New Zion Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Joey Pettis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 Saturday in the church sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Zion Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o David Teat, 10033 County Road 47, Shorterville, AL 36373.
Mrs. Barnett, daughter of the late Beach Cooper and Eula Mae Trammell Cooper, was born in Barbour County, between Texasville and Baker Hill. She was reared in Henry County and moved to Headland in 1960. Mrs. Barnett was a member of New Zion Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Barnett, Jr., a daughter, Margie Davis, and three sisters and three brothers.
Surviving relatives include her son, Anthony Robin Barnett and wife, Kimberly, Headland; four sisters, Eloise Baxley, Eufaula, Julene Tyndall, Phenix City; Sue Goodwin, Prattville; and Joyce Hutto, Clayton; one brother, Marshall Richard Cooper, Byron, GA; four grandchildren, Reece Davis, Courtney Barnett, Brandi Barnett, and Jessica Barnett.
