Cassie Bishop Collins

Cassie Bishop Collins, 93, of Virginia Beach, VA and formerly of Dothan passed away Friday, October 26, 2012 at Windermere Nursing Home.

Funeral Services will be held 3 pm Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Triumph the Church and Kingdom of God in Christ, 1100 Montana Street, with Rev. B.K. Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in North Highland Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Collins was born March 3, 1919 in Barbour County, AL and resided in Texasville the early part of her life. She was a homemaker resided in Dothan from 1942 until moving to Virginia in 1995. She was a member of Triumph Church where she sang in the choir. Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her daughter Linda Gail Collins.

Survivors include her sons, Robert Collins of Dothan, Macarthur (Ethel) Collins of Los Angeles, Ca, and Michael Buddy (Lula) Collins of Dothan; daughters, Geraldine Collins of Virginia Beach, VA, and Brenda (Billy) Truett of Dothan; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Bobby Streeter of Dothan and Frederick Streeter of Lakewood, NJ; a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Earl Lee, Will Lee Lewis, Charles Lee, Macarthur Collins, and Robert Collins.
