Lonie Crawford (Mishie) Wood Killebrew, a resident of Ft. Gaines, Georgia, died Sunday morning, September 23, 2012, in a Dothan hospital. She was 89.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. (EDT) Wednesday, September 26, 2012, in the Ft. Gaines United Methodist Church with Pastor Martin Loyley officiating. Burial will follow in the New Park Cemetery in Ft. Gaines. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. (EDT) Tuesday at the home of Besse and Bill Mills.

Mrs. Killebrew was born and reared in Abbeville, Alabama, daughter of the late Nicholas Crawford Wood and Besse Hudspeth Wood. She was a graduate of Abbeville High School and Alabama College, State College for Women (The University of Montevallo). Mrs. Killebrew was a member of the Ft. Gaines United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Ft. Gaines Home and Garden Club and the Ft. Gaines Women's Club. Mrs. Killebrew was employed by the Clay County Board of Education from 1970 until 1980. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Lanier Killebrew, and a brother, Richard Hudspeth Wood.
Surviving relatives include her daughter, Besse Killebrew Mills and husband, William H. (Bill) Mills, Ft. Gaines; two grandchildren, Laura Elizabeth Mills, Atlanta; and Dr. Edward Lanier Mills and wife, Cassie Mitchell Mills, Thomasville, GA; a sister-in-law, Edith Killebrew Latimer, Evans, GA; a brother-in-law, Edgar T. Killebrew, Jr. and wife, Gussye Arnold Killebrew, Abbeville; two nieces and three nephews.
