Waylon Paul Davis

Mr. Waylon Paul Davis of Elba AL passed away Friday, September 7, 2012 at his residence. He was 75.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, September 12, at Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Enterprise with Rev. Sam Self officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the funeral service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Basin Baptist Church (building fund) c/o of Rex Boutwell 10306 Hwy. 189 Elba, AL 36323.

Mr. Davis was born April 23, 1937 to the late Aaron and Rochelle Davis. He was a member of the Basin Baptist Church and had served in the United States Air Force. A sister, Ellen Stewart, brothers, Jere, Jack, and Wayne Davis as well as a grand-child, Matt Wheeler preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife Pearl Ogburn Davis, Elba, daughters: Zoe (Pete) Wheeler and Robin (Braxton) Kendrick; son, Aaron Davis; grandchildren: A.J. Carnley, Paul (Tiffany) Carnley, Trey Kendrick, Jamie Wheeler, Jake Wheeler and Jimbo Wheeler; great-grandchild, Luke Carnley; Siblings: Rev. C.P. Davis (Margaret), Don Davis (Tommie), Mary Thornton (Eugene), Peggy Clinansmith (Dave), Mike Davis (Brenda), John Davis (Jane); sisters-in-law: Mrs. Shirley Davis, Mrs. Leona Davis, Mrs. Evelyn Davis, and a host of nieces and nephews.
