Crash Leaves One Dead In Pike County

On Tuesday, August 14, a single-vehicle crash claimed the life of a Goshen man and injured three others. 

The crash occurred at 6:10 p.m. on County Road 2243 two miles east of Goshen. 

Willie Earl Taylor, 54, was a passenger in  a 1990 Nissan Maxima driven by Antony Earl Finney Jr., 21, of Troy.  Finney lost control of his vehicle, ran off the roadway, overturned and struck two unoccupied vehicles.  Taylor, who was not wearing a seat belt and was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries. 

Finney and two other passengers were transported to Troy Regional Medical Center where they were treated for their non-life threatening injuries.

Although circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation, state troopers say speed was a factor.
