Richard Allen Clark

Richard Allen Clark, 51, of Gulfport, MS and formerly of Midland City lost his courageous battle with cancer Thursday, August 9, 2012.


A memorial service celebrating Allen's life will be 2 pm Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Aubrey Sullivan officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 - 2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Wiregrass Food Bank, 382 Twitchell Rd., Dothan, AL, 36303.


Allen was born October 31, 1960. He served 20 years in the U.S. Navy as an independent duty corpsman. His last 4 years on active duty was spent with the chemical, biological, and radiological incident response force, responding to terrorist threats in the nation's capital and around the world. He was currently employed by LINX, a government contracted company in Gulfport as a tactical combat casualty instructor and a small arms marksmanship instructor. Allen was a positive influence on many lives and will always be fondly remembered by all who knew him. To know him was to love him. Allen was preceded in death by his father Wayne O'Neal Clark.


Survivors include his wife of 30 years Lisa Clark; a son Gary Allen (Mindy) Clark; his mother and step-father Shirah and Jerry Froehlich; brothers, Randy (Marie) Clark and Ronnie Clark; a sister Heidi (Rodney) DeValle; several nieces and nephews also survived who adored him.
