Coleman Austin Robinson

Coleman Austin Robinson, a resident of Watkinsville, Georgia, formerly of Abbeville, Alabama, died Saturday afternoon, August 4, 2012, at his home. He was 74.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. (C.D.T.) Tuesday, August 7, 2012, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Eric Buffington officiating. Burial will follow in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery, near Abbeville. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. (C.D.T.) Monday at the mortuary in Abbeville. At other times, the family will be at the home of a sister, Brenda Roberson.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Bishop Baptist Church, P.O. Box 10, Bishop, GA 30621 or to Compassionate Care Hospice, 2340 Prince Avenue, Suite B, Athens, GA 30606.
Mr. Robinson was born and reared in Henry County, Alabama, near Abbeville, son of the late Buck Austin Robinson and Gladys Marie Tew Robinson. He lived in various locations while working in commercial construction before moving to Watkinsville three years ago. Mr. Robinson retired as a Supervisor in Commercial & Nuclear Plant Construction. He was a member of the Bishop Baptist Church in Bishop, Georgia. Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Lynn Robinson.
Surviving relatives include three daughters, Lorri Lynn Robinson, Monticello, GA; Melissa Anne Loudermilk and husband, Keith, Watkinsville, GA and Wendy Michele Vandevander and husband, Gene, McDonough, GA; two step-children, Belinda Lynn and Benise Lynn; three sisters, Catherine Jeanette Carpenter and husband, Rotain, DeFuniak Springs, FL; Betty R. Bailey and husband, Earl, Riverdale, GA; and Brenda Roberson and husband, Randy, Abbeville, AL; two brothers, Richard A. Robinson, Eufaula, AL and Reamus Robinson, Headland, AL; nine grandchildren, Drew Speir and wife, Sara, Erica Speir, Heather and Sandy Strickland, Devin and Kaitlyn Brand, Tanner, Parker and LeahJean Loudermilk; two step-grandchildren, Dean and Brooke Layfield; five great-grandchildren.
