The numbers are in and not all Dothan schools made the grade. Girarad and Honeysuckle School Middle School failed to make AYP.

AYP is measured by three categories: test scores, test participation and additional academic indicators like daily attendance or graduation rates. Those categories are broken down into subgroups.

At Girard and Honeysuckle Middle students in the special education subgroup failed to meet the standard.

Superintendent Tim Wilder said he's not happy with the results,

"I don't feel really good about it. I would like to have 100 percent but I think we're doing the right things. Our principals, our teachers, our people they're all doing the right things, "said Wilder

Dothan High School also failed to make AYP.  Wilder said they have filed an appeal against the state's decision. Wilder said two students were mistakenly marked in the 11th grade, when they're really 10th graders.

"Fortunately in our case we found out that the two students that this happened to are the ones that would have put us in compliance with AYP," explained Wilder.
