Shoppers in Dothan pay nine percent in sales taxes, but this weekend they can scratch that. Friday kicks off Alabama's tax free holiday.

Clothes, computers, and school supplies will be exempt from state and local sales taxes.

Statewide sales tax revenues have gone up every August since the holiday began seven years ago.

It also means big profits for stores like Target.

Target Team Leader David Muehliesen, said store employees have been setting up for the big weekend for more than a month.

"You can see the fliers all over the place those are the sale items. So things that are already competitively priced are already discounted further," said Muehliesen.

Target expects thousands of shoppers this weekend.
