Updated: July 30, 2012

On July 29, 2012 the Dothan Police Department responded a report of a possible armed robbery involving Markus Lasane and Michael Bryant. The alleged victim stated he was robbed at gunpoint by the two men, in a parking-lot while inside his car at a business located in the 3400 block of Ross Clark Circle. The suspects then drove away in a white Ford Crown Victoria and were followed by the victim until they were stopped by patrol officers. During the investigation, two hand guns were seized which were previously reported as stolen out of Jackson County Florida.

The suspects were taken to the police department and questioned about the incident. In a taped statement, both suspects confirmed a confrontation occurred between the three men but stated the meeting involved narcotics and denied allegations of robbery. Bryant was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance while Lasane was arrested and charged Receiving Stolen Property. Investigators say they are working with Florida authorities to obtain criminal histories on both suspects who may face additional charges of Possession of a Pistol by Violent Felon.
