A woman has been shot by a Henry County deputy after she opened fire on the deputy.

The deputy was responding to a burglary call when he came up on a vehicle in the roadway. As he approached the vehicle, the woman inside opened fire. Gunfire was exchanged and the woman was reportedly shot in the arm.

She has since been taken into custody but deputies began their search for an accomplice. They are looking for a man named William Walker from Coffee County.

He is believed to be in some nearby woods and was using a four-wheeler before it gave out of gas. Numerous agencies are working with Henry County law enforcement in an air and ground search.

The search area is reported to be on or near County Road 48 near Thomas Mill Creek.
