Auburn Breaks Into Top 10 In Recruiting

After landing the commitment of McGill-Toolen athlete Jason Smith on Monday, the Auburn Tigers moved into the top 10 of 247Sports' recruiting rankings for the Class of 2013. Gene Chizik and his staff are coming off a top 15 recruiting class in February, but a fast start this spring and summer have the Tigers back in contention for a nationally elite class.

"Smith is another quality in-state pickup for Auburn and moved the Tigers up into the Top 10 of our rankings, which is probably the minimum goal for this staff each year," said Auburn Undercover and 247Sports analyst Bryan Matthews. "Seven of the nine teams above Auburn in the rankings have more than the Tigers' 15 commitments, which is a good indication Auburn can move even higher as it adds more quality recruits to its class."
