Escambia Emergency Management Director John Dosh says the county is ready to handle the storm if it does head our way.
But he says the ground still being saturated is a concern. He says people can help to prevent flooding by removing debris from storm drains.
Many people we spoke to feel their neighborhoods wouldn't be able to handle large amounts of rainfall.
"It wouldn't take a whole bunch of rain fall to put us back to where we're starting to have problems," said Dosh.
"We'll probably have more problems then," said Glenn Stapleton. "Our big problem here is we got this big overfill here the drainage and once it fills up that's where we have all the problems."
The county is still working to repair many roads and bridges that were washed out by the flood.
