Beth Holloway Sues The National Enquirer

By: Stephen Crews
Updated: June 20, 2012
Natalee Holloway's mother has filed suit against the National Enquirer.  The lawsuit claims the tabloid ran stories that were not true, in an effort to profit from Natalee Holloway's disappearance in Aruba in 2005.

Beth Holloway says publisher American Media, Inc. used "false headlines, articles and statements" over the last seven years.  The suit mentions several Enquirer articles.  One of them even said Joran van der Sloot had a  hand-drawn map to Natalee Holloway's grave.

Van der Sloot remains the prime suspect in Holloway's unsolved disappearance. He faces an indictment for allegedly extorting $25,000 to lead Beth Holloway's lawyer to Natalee's body.
