Mary Nell Branch Creamer, Dothan, passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Wesley Manor Retirement Center.She was 86.
Mary Nell was born on December 11, 1925 to Samuel Edwin Branch and Rosa Eugene (Genie) Beasley Branch in Eclectic, Alabama.In 1943 she graduated from Dothan High School, where she performed in several theatrical productions.She married James Arthur (Art) Creamer in 1944, and they had three daughters:Mary Jean Creamer Allen of Tuscaloosa, Catherine Eileen Creamer Wilkerson of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Jill Annelle Creamer West of Dothan.
Over the course of her life, in addition to being a devoted wife and mother, she also was a successful businesswoman.After owning and operating Creamer's Dress Shop on South Oates Street for many years, Mary Nell retired in 1986.
Mary Nell was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her two brothers, Samuel Edwin Branch, Jr., and Ernest Dean Branch.She is survived by her three daughters, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
A private graveside service will be held.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wesley Manor's Fountain of Love fund.
