Dothan PD Make Arrest After Woman Is Stabbed Several Times

The Dothan Police Department responded Saturday to a local hospital where a patient was seeking treatment for an assault shortly before 1:00 a.m.

The victim, an adult female, received seven stab wounds during the incident. Investigators were called to the hospital where they learned the victim had been stabbed while at a residence in the 800 block of Wheat Street.

According to the victim, she had been involved in an argument with Maurice Horn which escalated into a brief physical fight.

Immediately after the physical altercation, the victim walked into the house where she was attacked by Horn who had armed himself with a pocket knife. The victim was treated and released for moderate injuries incurred during the attack.

Police returned to the scene of the crime where they collected evidence but were unable to locate the suspect. Several hours later, the suspect was located on Beulah Street.

He fled from police and was apprehended by a police canine on East Stough Street. Horn was taken into custody bringing the case to a close.

      Maurice Tyeshon Horn, black male, 31 years of age, of Abbeville, Alabama was arrested and charged with Second Degree Assault with a $ 15,000 bond.
