Tornado Touches Down In Geneva County

An apparent tornado touched down in Geneva County just after 11:00 a.m. this morning.

The first signs of damage were south of Geneva. There was additional damage near Sysco on Highway 52 west in Geneva near the Geneva Wal-Mart.

From there more damage could be found north of Geneva on Highway 27 north and then again on several county roads between the Chancellor and Bellwood communities.

Most of the damage reported were trees down south of Geneva and near Geneva. But there was damage to a barn roof on Highway 27. There was also heavy damage to chicken houses on Country Road 99 near Bellwood and Chancellor.
