Carroll High School head football coach Stacy Watters and his 10-year old  son were killed Thursday a Florida traffic accident.

The car in which they were riding collided with a box truck, according to law enforcement.  The coaches other son, 7, is in critical condition at Arnold Palmer Hospital in Orlando.  The coach's girlfriend and her children were traveling in a separate vehicle and the coach was believed to be in Florida for a cruise.

Troopers said they believe the crash happened when Watter's pulled out in front of an ice cream delivery truck.

Authorities also said they believe some kind of confusion, such as being lost, may have led him to make the tragic mistake on the road.

"Don't know, other than if he may not be from the area, just not familiar. We don't know. Unfortunately, we'll probably never know," said Kim Montes of the Florida Highway Patrol.

Water's had spent one year at Carroll High School.  Superintendent Michael Lenhart called the deaths "devastating."
