Donald Joel Martin, a resident of Dothan, died Saturday May 12, 2012 at his residence. He was 54.
Funeral services for Mr. Martin will be held at 10 AM Wednesday May 16, 2012 at Hodgesville Baptist Church with Reverend Mark Bristow officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. Jude Children's Hospital, 322 N. Lauderdale, Memphis, TN 38105.
Mr. Martin was born October 6, 1957 in Houston County to William "Billy" Andrew and Sarah Hodges Martin. He was a 1975 graduate of Rehobeth High School and served in the United States Army for 12 years. Mr. Martin was currently employed with Erica Lane Enterprises, Inc as an Electrician at Ft. Rucker. He was a member of Hodgesville Baptist Church and enjoyed computers and music.
Mr. Martin is preceded in death by his father, Billy Martin.
Mr. Martin is survived by his wife, Szilvia Martin, Dothan; sons, Marcell Martin, 11 years old from Dothan, Adam Jay and Christopher Joel Martin, both of Minnesota; mother, Sarah Martin; brothers, Phillip Martin (Lisa) and Bill Martin (Laura), both of Dothan; special aunt, Lynda Sewell (Billy), Hodgesville.
