Ms. Carol Jean Powell Jenkins

Ms. Carol Jean Powell Jenkins of Samson, Alabama passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012.  She was 78.


A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 14, at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Mike Joyner officiating.


The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. and continue until service time. 


Ms. Jenkins was born April 3, 1934, in Geneva County, Alabama to the late William Amie and Reba Skipper Powell.  She was a graduate of Coffee Springs High School and worked as a bookkeeper for the Samson Housing Authority.  She was a loving mother and grandmother.


In addition to her parents, a brother, William Charles Powell, preceded her in death.


Survivors include one son, John Emmett Jenkins, Jr. (Lisa), Coffee Springs; two daughters: Tami Mock, Samson, and Gina Jordan (Rod), Las Cruces, NM; one sister, Joyce Walters, Atlanta, GA; one brother, Mike Powell, Cairo, GA; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; other extended family and friends.
