Identical Twins Nabbed In Robbery

Identical twins have been arrested and charged with Wednesday's armed robbery of a credit union in Dothan.  The 5-Star Credit Union on West Main Street was held up by what was first thought to be a gunman acting alone.

However, police were able to determine two people were involved including one driving the get-away car.  Officers took Devon and Devin Jackson, 28, into custody about two hours apart Wednesday evening.

Sgt. Rachel David, Dothan Police spokesperson, said Devin was apprehended at his home on Redmond Road around 5 p.m.   Officers stopped a car in which Devon was riding about 7 pm on Napier Field Road at Cayman Bay Mobile Home Estates. He was immediately arrested.

Sgt. David says Devon was the man who jumped a counter at the credit union, ordered employees to the floor, and took money from cash drawers.  Devin, his twin brother, is believed by investigators to have driven a car in which the two fled the scene.  A source involved with the investigation said a mask and gun believed used in the robbery have been recovered.

Court records show both men have prior arrests including a case in which Devin is scheduled to be tried next week on charges involving the alleged possession of burglary tools.  He was free on $5000.00 bail at the time of the credit union robbery.
