Dothan Police have taken two men into custody in connection with the armed robbery of a Dothan credit union.
Devon Jackson, 28,
was arrested by an officer on Napier Field Road about 6:50 Wednesday
night. It's unclear at this time exactly what led to the arrest. An
officer with knowledge of the investigation said a second person was
taken arrested less than two hours earlier. The circumstances of that arrest have not been released at this time.
The 5-Star Credit
Union, near the intersection of West Main Street and Flowers Chapel
Road, was held up late Wednesday morning by what was, at that time,
believed to be a lone gunman. Employees of the financial institution
said the bandit ran out the back door toward Flowers Chapel.
It's not immediately clear what the role of the second person was in the robbery though its not unusual for a getaway car to be used in such heists. Police Public Information Officer Rachel David, responding to a text message, said she has not been advised of specific details regarding arrests in the case.
