The annual one day event brings in thousands of people from throughout the Wiregrass to kick-off the summer season, and is a proud partner to the Enterprise Lions Club Boll Weevil 100/Ride to Recovery Southeast Bike Ride, which is held the same day. The festival has slightly changed their location this year, and will be held on East College Street and South Edwards Street, from East Lee Street to Grubs Street.
This year's event includes a focus on nationally-known musical artists who reside in the Enterprise area. One of the talented musicians performing at the event is Kaitlyn Lusk, best known for her work as the vocal soloist heard on the soundtrack of the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy. Other notable performances of the day include Katie Smith (an up-and-coming Country music star), Moon Rock, the Pinedale Choir, and a special afternoon presentation will be held on the stage for the Ride to Recovery Southeast Project, which assists wounded veterans transition back to a normal lifestyle.
"We are very fortunate to have such an exciting music lineup for the Summer Fest this year," states Christy Elmore, Tourism Director, "we are looking forward to drawing a large group of visitors with the addition of Ms. Lusk's performance, and are appreciative of the quality of artists the Downtown Enterprise Business Association has brought this year."
Downtown Enterprise merchants will have special sidewalk sales and savings events throughout the day, as well as fun activities for the kids. Make plans to be at the Enterprise Downtown Summer Fest May 12th.
