From Troy Media Relations:

TROY, Ala. - Troy catcher Blake Martz has been suspended for the season due to a violation of NCAA rules, Troy head coach Bobby Pierce announced Monday morning.

Martz, a fifth-year senior from Huntsville, Ala., had appeared in three games for the Trojans this season. Neither the University nor Martz will have any further comment about the suspension.

The Trojans open Sun Belt Conference play this weekend with a three-game series at South Alabama.

Martz started Troy's first three games, but hadn't played since. He hit .111 (1-for-9) with a home run and two RBIs. Last year, Martz started 45 games, hitting .234 with seven home runs and 40 RBIs.
