A woman and two children are dead after a single vehicle accident in Henry County.

It happened just before 6:30am Saturday on Henry County Highway 53 about seven miles north of Columbia.

Alabama State Troopers say 32-year-old Lakisha Jones was traveling south when for some reason her vehicle left the road and struck a tree. Jones, her 2-year-old nephew and 5-year-old niece died at the scene.

State Troopers continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
