Alabama Rolls Past Coastal Carolina In NIT Opener

Alabama's defense forced 19 turnovers and held Coastal Carolina to 33 percent shooting, beating the Chanticleers 68-44 in the first round of the NIT. The Crimson Tide advanced to face New Mexico in the second round.

Tony Mitchell, Charvez Davis and Trevor Releford scored 12 points each for the Tide. JaMychal Green added nine points and 10 rebounds, helping the Tide win it's first post-season game since the 2005-06 season.

Anthony Raffa and Chad Gray each scored 10 points for Coastal Carolina, which finished the season with a 28-6 record. In other NIT action on Tuesday:
