Hunter Skipper and Clay Holmes are both bound for Division One programs in the fall. On Friday, Skipper got the better of his future in-state rival.

Skipper, who signed with Troy earlier this year, outdueled Holmes, an Auburn signee, in Rehobeth's 3-0 win over Slocomb. The game was the opener of the Rehobeth Invitational.

Skipper kept Slocomb hitters off balance, and the Rebels offense capitalized on Red Tops defensive miscues to earn the win. Rehobeth scored the first run of the game thanks to a series of errors, which ended when the Red Tops threw the ball into center field on a double steal, allowing Payne Palmer to score.
