Florida Atlantic Tops Troy For Sun Belt Regular Season Title

Shavar Richardson scored 19 points, leading Florida Atlantic to a 77-60 win over Troy on Thursday night. With the win, the Owls clinched the regular season Sun Belt title, and the top seed in the upcoming conference tournament.

The Owls also made school history, winning 20 games in a season for the first time in the 18-year history of the program at the Division One level. The Owls built a 10-point lead early in the second half, and never led by less than double figures for the remainder of the game.

Vernon Taylor led Troy with 16 points. Bernard Toombs had a double-double for the Trojans with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
