Jackson County Crash Claims One Life

A Marianna man is killed following a traffic accident in Jackson County.

The Florida Highway Patrol says 67-year-old Phillip Howard was driving north on Caverns Road when he reportedly passed out and lost control of his vehicle.

He then reportedly crashed his vehicle into a wooded area.

Authorities say Howard had a medical condition that caused him to become incapacitated while driving.

He was pronounced dead at Jackson County Hospital from his medical condition.
