There's sad news from the Auburn campus, as the University has confirmed the famed oak trees that inhabit Toomer's Corner have been intentionally poisoned with an herbicide. School officials say it's unlikely the trees will survive.

Toomer's Corner is the traditional gathering place for Auburn fans following big wins by the Tigers various sports teams, including the tradition of showering the trees with toilet paper. Many of the trees in that area are more than 130 years old.

A caller to the Paul Finebaum Radio Show took credit for the act earlier this year, claiming he drove to campus and intentionally poisoned the trees following the Tigers win over Alabama in the Iron Bowl.
