Updated: February 14, 2011
Officers of the Marianna Police Department responded to the Marianna Garden Apartments located at 3070 Carters Mill Road, Marianna, Fl., in reference to an armed robbery. The victim advised officers he had been gambling earlier outside of “F” building with several other individuals, afterwards he began to walk towards his apartment, when one of the subject’s he had been playing with approached him from behind and placed a handgun to his head. The victim stated he was then approached by another black male, who also possessed a handgun. One of the suspects demanded that he empty his pockets and give him everything he had, and the victim complied.

According to the victim, one of the suspects then “racked” his gun, and demanded that he follow him back to his apartment, where he thought the victim might have more money stored. However, as the victim was being escorted back to his apartment one of the suspects observed several individuals standing outside the victim’s apartment building that could possibly identify him, so he and the other subject fled the area in an Chevrolet Malibu car, burgundy in color. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken as well as the victim’s cell phone. The case is currently under investigation.
