Jefferson County Votes To Suspend Merit Pay Raises

Jefferson County commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday morning to suspend merit pay raises for county employees.

The move should save the county as much as $2 million a year.  Commissioners say the move will also help save jobs.  This is one of the newest cost cutting measures to make up for money lost as a result of a judge declaring the occupational tax illegal.
