Huntsville native Margaret Hoelzer is retiring from competitive swimming.

The 27-year-old Huntsville High School graduate won three Olympic medals and numerous national titles. She was also the grand marshal of the 2008 WAAY 31 Christmas Parade.

Hoelzer lives in Seattle where she's holding swimming clinics and making inspirational speeches. She's also working on her master's degree.

As a spokesperson for the National Children's Advocacy Center, Hoelzer hopes to one day start her own foundation to help children.
