Vision Airlines Reports Heavy Interest In $49 One-Way Ticket

By: Stephen Crews
Updated: January 22, 2011

It appears Vision Airlines is off to a "flying start!" The company announced consumer demand for its $49 introductory fare sale has been so overwhelming, it is extending the time to book a flight. Consumers can now get the $49 fare until January 31.

According to Chief Operating Officer David Meers, the volume of calls this week crashed the company's computer servers. The server capacity has been increased now to handle customer interest.

The company reports it sold approximately 5000 tickets and recorded nearly 20,000 web site hits during its first 48 hours of operation.

Vision Airlines has allocated more $49 seats to each flight. Those tickets go on sale today, January 21.

Fares on Vision Airline range from $49 to $199 one-way.
