A jury acquitted two former Birmingham police officers Tuesday morning off all charges against them.
Barrett Dewitt and David Doran were accused of using excessive force against car chase suspect, Anthony Warren. The chase happened in January 2008. Warren led officers through Birmingham and Hoover, striking a Hoover police officer during the chase. It ended in a crash on the on ramp to Interstate 459 in Hoover. Police dash cam video showed Warren being ejected from his van, then shows several officers running toward Warren, hitting and kicking him.
Right now, Warren is serving time in prison for hitting the Hoover police officer.
