LaGrange Police say a pregnant woman helped chase down a man who tried to rob the store where she works.

According to investigators, Angelo Hall came into the CVS Pharmacy on Greenville Street next to the city's police department around 11:00 a.m.

He wasn't armed, but after paying a $1 for a Snickers bar, detectives say Hall tried to grab money out of the open cash register.

The clerk slammed the register closed on his hand and he took off.

Another CVS employee, a woman who is six months pregnant, ran after him into the street to see where he was going and watched as he headed towards the nearby Budget Inn.

When officers got to the motel, they found blood on one of the doors from the Hall's injured hand and the would-be robber barricaded himself inside his hotel room.

Once police broke down the door, they found him hiding under the mattress and arrested him.

Hall is facing a charge of Criminal Attempt Robbery and is being held in the Troup County Jail.

According to investigators, he's currently on parole for armed robbery.

The pregnant woman was not injured and her efforts were not in vain.
