One Child Dead, One Cricially Injured In Automobile Accident

In St. Clair County, a 5 year-old boy is dead and a 2 year-old boy is still in intensive care after a car accident Thursday. State Troopers say both children were in child restraint seats.

The crash involved a family of four from Virginia. It happened on I-59 near Springville. Investigators say the father fell asleep at the wheel, woke up, ran off the road and slammed into a line of trees.The father was also hurt but the mother escaped injury.

The crash is still under investigation.
