Three Panhandle Fisherman Rescued Near Jupiter Beach

Three fishermen from the Panhandle are rescued after a boating accident. It happened in Jupiter beach around 8:30 p.m. Monday night.

A spokesperson with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission says the 3 were mullet fishing.

The FWC believes the 20 foot commercial boat hit a wave and flipped over.

Vicki Trickey, 50, of Wewahitchka, Christopher Goodwin, 28, of Southport and boat operator Richard Lancaster, 60, of Port St. Joe were able to swim to shore after hours in the water.

They were treated on-scene for hypothermia. The boat washed ashore but it was destroyed.
