Man Charged in Connection to Courthouse Bomb Threat

Houston County Sheriff Deputies say a Dothan man caused caused a panic at the Houston County Courthouse Monday afternoon.
"During the bomb threat that he called in he specifically targeted the courthouse. He also targeted District Attorney Doug Valeska and said that Valeska was going to get what was coming to him," Houston County Sheriff Andy Hughes said.
The building was evacuated and employees sent home for the remainder of the day. The Dothan Bomb Squad searched the building-- no such device was found.
The call was traced back to a disconnected cell phone-- which was no problem for investigators. "We used some technology that's available to us and we determined what cell phone number it came from and we also determined who last owned that phone," Sheriff Hughes continued.
That phone led them to Dozier-- who it turns out is no stranger to law enforcement. He was actually set for court Thursday to set a trail date for burglary charges.
"I think it was a combination he was mad at the criminal justice system for the trouble he's been in, laying blame somewhere else when he should lay it on himself," Sheriff Hughes continued.
Investigators think Dozier thought he covered his tracks by using a disconnected cell phone. "We want people to know, if you call in a threat sooner or later you are going to get caught. I don't care if you call from a pay phone, a cell phone or a home phone... it may take a little while but we are going to catch you," Hughes said.
Dozier sits in the Houston County Jail on making Terrorist Threats charges. There is no band and his previous charges-- there still there and waiting.
The Sheriff's Office continues to investigate a similar threat from July 23rd. They're not yet ruling out if the two threats are somehow connected.
