Mrs. Joann Bess Anderson of Coffee
Springs, AL passed away Sunday, June 20, 2010 at Southeast Alabama Medical
Center. She was 73. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 27, 2010
at Coffee Springs United Methodist Church with the Rev. Hilton Wilson
officiating and Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. Interment will follow
in Sunset Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, you may send donations to
Coffee Springs United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Anderson was born July 8,
1936 in Geneva County, AL to the late Ralph and Avis Clary Bess. Prior to her
retirement she owned a private accounting firm. She was a member of Coffee
Springs United Methodist church where she served as church clerk at the time of
her death. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband,
Delano Anderson; one brother, Jerry Bess and stepmother, Myrtie Bess.
Survivors include two sisters,
Marietta and George Webster, Geneva, Kenya and Steve Jernigan, Madison, AL; one
sister-in-law, Christine Bess, Geneva; nephews, Jeremy and Shelia Bess, Terry
Bess, Coby Webster, all of Geneva, Wesley Jernigan, Madison, AL; niece, Bess
Jernigan, Madison, AL; one great niece, Kaylee Bess; great nephews, Lane Bess,
both of Geneva, AL.
