John M. Peddicord, a resident of Cowarts, passed away Friday, March 19, 2010 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 78.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Byrd Funeral Home on WestMain Street charge of arrangements. Mr. Peddicord was born December 16, 1931 in Baltimore, MD and lived his early life there. He and his family traveled extensively and he moved to Cowarts in 1981 where he lived the remainder of his life. Mr. Peddicord was a regular at Sadie’s Flea Market for the past 17 years. He retired from Florida Microfilm, where he worked as an offset pressman for many years. Mr. Peddicord was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and attended the Dothan North Congregation.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Peddicord; three sons, Jon Peddicord, David Peddicord and Nathan Peddicord; a daughter, Linda Tew; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; a sister, Mary Rhea; several nieces, nephews and other family members.
