Reported by: Scott Packard, SPackard@wdhn.com Friday, Nov 20, 2009 @06:09pm CST The Troy-Dothan campus had visitors today... from more than seven-thousand miles away.
Students from a university in the northeast part of China made their way to Dothan this morning. They were in town to share aspects of their culture with the Wiregrass. Dancing, singing and music were just part of the show. Troy University says this provides a unique opportunity for the area. "Knowing that China is a country of more than five-thousand years of customs... it's a great opportunity to exchange ideas as well as making new friendships," Don Jeffrey, Ph.D. of Troy University Dothan said. Today's audience was mostly high school students. The entertainers performed at Troy University before heading to Dothan. The university is hoping they can get a bigger venue for next year so that more people can enjoy the show. |
