Reported by: Lila Grace Monday, Nov 16, 2009 @08:57pm CST An Ashford woman says she was attacked Monday morning.
The Houston County Sheriff's Office received the call before 10 a.m. Monday morning. The reports were of a man coming into her house on Cosby Road, just east of Ashford, and cut a mom on her neck. But Sheriff Andy Hughes says it was a minor injury, one that was treated right in her home. "The suspect fled through the back door of the house and fled to the field ." said Houston County Sheriff Andy Hughes. The victim's mother Peggy Chason was too shaken up to speak on camera, but she did tells us, she believes the target of the alleged attacker wasn't her daughter but her 15 year -old granddaughter. Her granddaughter was at school when the man came into the house. But Sheriff Hughes did want to reassure people of their safety. "We do want to let the public know this is an isolated incident. I don't believe the general public is in a whole lot of danger. We have had no other reports of an individual fitting this description." said Sheriff Hughes But as if today's event weren't bad enough, it's only one more misfortune this family can add to their already long string of bad luck. Because, back in August they lost everything to a house fire. A house that caught on fire not once before, not even twice before, but a total of six times. Their home isn't buried in ashes anymore but now neither are there worries. Sheriff Hughes says the suspect they're looking for is a white male 5'8 to 5'10, medium build. He was wearing a green shirt and blue jeans. If you have information you are asked to call the Houston County Sheriff's Office. |
