Reported by: Eddie Phillips Friday, Aug 28, 2009 @04:37pm CDT One area school is teaching kids good financial habits early. Windham Elementary in Daleville has installed the "First Step Savings & Loan" with the help of Army Aviation Center Federal Credit Union. Parental Involvement Coordinator Danielle Seaton (pictured) says the company sends agents to the school each Friday to receive the children's deposits into their own individual accounts, even amounts as low as a penny. Company executives say they're also providing the program at Boys' And Girls' Clubs Of The Wiregrass and Pike Liberal Arts Academy, with other locations planned. The credit union first started the program at Windham Elementary because company headquarters is in Daleville. |
